CURRNT, an Illinois-based beverage brand, came to A Spoonful Photography ahead of a new product launch needing a full product photography set to introduce their latest beverages. The ask was ambitious: build out two distinct visual worlds for the same product line. They were hoping for bright, colorful day look and a moody, neon-lit night look so the brand could market its launch across very different moods and platforms.
The Challenge
Shooting one cohesive product story is one thing. Shooting two, with completely different lighting conditions, color treatments, and moods, while keeping both feel unmistakably "Currnt," is another. The day imagery needed to feel vibrant and energetic, with pops of color that made the cans and packaging feel fresh and eye catching. The night imagery needed to lean into a completely different mood: dramatic, moody lighting with neon accents that echoed the brand's edgier side.
The neon patterns were the hardest part. Getting colored light to read accurately and vividly on camera without losing detail in the product or letting the neon glow overpower the shot took a lot of careful lighting work. Neon is unpredictable under a lens, and dialing in the right exposure and color balance to make the patterns pop while keeping the product itself sharp took real trial and error.
The Result
The final imagery gave Currnt a versatile, dual-mood photography set for their new product launch. Bright and colorful for daytime energy, moody and neon-lit for nighttime edge. Together, the two looks let Currnt market their new beverages across a wider range of platforms and moments, all while staying true to one unified brand identity.
