Silk, Styled Right. Product Photography Project for Heritage Twill

The Client & The Ask

Client: Heritage Twill
Location: Madison, WI
Services: Product Photography

As a Madison food photographer and product photographer, most of my work centers on food and beverage brands, but great product photography principles apply across categories. When luxury scarf brand Heritage Twill needed imagery for a new collection launch, they came to A Spoonful Photography for a shoot that demanded the same precision and consistency I bring to every project.

Heritage Twill designs luxury silk scarves, and for their newest launch, they needed a full set of product photography that could carry an entire collection. The ask: imagery where every scarf felt like part of one cohesive line, with consistent lighting across the board, but enough variation in styling to give each piece its own personality and let its individual pattern and colorway shine.

The Challenge

Consistent lighting, styled to stand apart.

Silk is one of the most demanding fabrics to photograph. It's reflective, fluid, and every fold catches light differently depending on how it's draped. Getting consistent, true to color lighting across an entire collection, while still styling each scarf uniquely enough to keep the launch visually interesting, meant every setup had to be dialed in with precision.

The real challenge was balance: lighting consistency needed to hold steady from piece to piece so the collection read as a unified line. The styling and folds needed enough intentional variation that no two shots looked repetitive. Silk doesn't forgive sloppy draping and a fold that looks elegant in one light can look flat or wrinkled in another, so getting the right shape took patience and repeated adjustment on nearly every piece.

The Result

The final collection gave Heritage Twill a polished, cohesive set of launch imagery that photographs each scarf as part of a unified luxury line, while still giving every individual piece room to stand out. The consistency in lighting elevated the brand's overall presentation, and the varied styling kept the collection feeling fresh from piece to piece.

Whether it's silk scarves, baked goods, or anything in between, this project is a good example of the kind of detail-driven product photography I bring to every brand I work with. If you're searching for a photographer near me who can handle demanding materials and deliver a consistent, elevated collection, I'd love to help.
